A CT of the heart can be helpful in investigating:

• Chest Pains
• Shortness of breath
• Chest pains after heart surgery (stent, coronary artery bypass)
• Suspected heart disease in high risk individuals with 2 or more risk factors:
• Diabetes
• Hypertension
• High Cholesterol
• Smoker or previous smoker
• Strong family history of premature heart disease
• Obesity

Reduce your risks of Heart Disease
There are things you can do to prevent a cardiovascular event (heart attack) and improve your quality of life.

• Quit Smoking and avoid secondhand smoke.
• Establish and maintain healthly eating
• Limit acohol comsumption
• Engage in regular physical activity (30 minutes most days is recommended)
• Maintain a healthy weight
