CT BRAIN WITH CONTRAST

Clinical History
A 58 year old female patient presented with vertigo. Her GP requested a CT Brain to be performed.

Technique
A non contrast CT was performed, followed by a post contrast study. 60ml of contrast was hand injected three (3) minutes prior to the post contrast acquisition. Multiplanar reconstructions were done of the this section post contrast study.

Diagnosis
A cluster of dilated and tortuous vascular structures at the posterior aspect of the 3rd ventricle, most severely involving the internal cerebral veins, the vein of Galen and their tributaries is seen. This appearance is suggestive of an arterial venous malformation (AVM).
